How we measure this

Events describe the night, not the cause

The percentage compares that night's median with the same weekdays around it — a weekend is 5–20% above midweek by itself. We publish the number and state plainly that we are not claiming the event caused it.

A thin measurement is not published at all

A city-month needs at least 30 places and 15 measured nights before it gets a public page. Below that we say “not enough measured yet” rather than publish a shaky number.
