How these numbers are made

Every figure on this site is a measurement of a public price on a named date. Nothing is estimated, modelled or forecast. This page says exactly what was measured and what it does not cover.

What is measured

The asking price Agoda publicly shows for a stay of one night for two adults, read once per night of the window, for every property the town's search returns. These are asking prices — what places want — not the prices of bookings that completed.

How a night becomes a number

Every property that returned a price for that night goes into one list. The median is the middle of that list: half the town wants less, half wants more. The percentile bands (p25–p75, p10–p90) are the same list read at those positions. No weighting, no smoothing, no averaging across nights.

When a page gets published

A night counts only with at least 30 priced properties, and a month is published only with at least 15 such nights. Below either threshold the page does not exist rather than showing a thin number.

Sold out is not free

Each night publishes two counts: how many properties the search returned, and how many of those carried a price. The difference is the sold-out and closed set. They are never counted as zero and never pull the median down.

Unmeasured is not zero

A night nobody measured is shown as unknown. There is no interpolation between measured nights and no carrying forward of yesterday's price.

How fresh it is

Each page stamps the date its data was read, and the sitemap carries that same date per URL. Prices are re-read when a scan is run, not on a schedule.

What these numbers cannot tell you

They are one marketplace's public inventory, not the whole town. They are asking prices, so they cannot show discounts, occupancy actually achieved, or revenue. Taxes and fees appear as that marketplace displays them. A town's listing set changes between scans, so two dates are comparable in shape rather than as a fixed panel.

Corrections

If a figure on this site looks wrong, we want to know — a measurement that cannot be challenged is not evidence. Reports are reviewed against the stored snapshot for the exact property and date in question.
